Dhaka, Nov 24 (BDNEWS) – Expelled BNP MP from Rajshahi-3 (Bagmara-Mohonpur) Abu Hena has said he has no remorse for being expelled from BNP for waging a crusade against the rise of communal extremism.
"I will continue my bid to unearth the truth and the patrons of the terrorists and their godfathers," he told BDNEWS shortly after his expulsion.
Hena said: Khaleda Zia expelled me from BNP without consulting in the standing committee or any other forum of the party in an autocratic way.
"This proves that there is no democracy in BNP," he said.
He said: So far I had been blaming a section of the BNP and government for the rise of communal militancy. My expulsion demonstrates that the entire government is involved in the rise of the extremism in the country.
He called upon the professionals and business community to wage a united movement against the militants.
"I appeal not only to the countrymen, but also the entire world to free Bangladesh from the curse extremism."
Replying to a question, he said "My life is now at stake. But I'm not afraid of.... This is the struggle for making the country habitable. If we failed to resist the terrorists, the country will be on the verge of collapse."
