Dhaka, Mar 2 (BDNEWS)- The Election Commission announced Thursday that the by-election to the Manikganj-4 constituency will be held on April 19.
The last date for submitting nomination papers has been fixed on March 20. March 21 is the day for scrutiny of nomination papers. The date of withdrawal of nomination papers is April 2.
The seat fell vacant on January 22 this year following the death of the BNP lawmaker Shamsul Islam Khan alias Naya Mia.
The Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj has been appointed Returning Officer and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Manikganj Sadar and Shingair upazila assistant Returning Officer to run the election.
