The Inqilab Moncho has urged everyone “not to fall into the trap of instigation” following the death of the platform’s convener Sharif Osman Bin Hadi.

The platform, inspired by the July Movement, demanded justice, saying it would announce a stringent programme regarding the demand "very soon."

Apart from that announcement, the platform requested everyone “not to fall into the trap of any instigation or provocation.”

Hadi was shot at close range on Dec 12 while travelling by rickshaw in Dhaka's Bijoynagar. Police said two assailants arrived on a motorcycle, opened fire and fled the scene.

He was initially taken in critical condition to Dhaka Medical College Hospital before being transferred to Evercare Hospital, where he received intensive care.

On Dec 15, Hadi was flown to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced medical treatment. He later died there.

As news of Hadi's death spread, an agitated mob vandalised and set fires to the buildings of national dailies Prothom Alo and Daily Star, and cultural institution Chhayanaut.

COFFIN TO BE TAKEN AT DU

After Hadi’s coffin reaches Dhaka, it will be taken to the Dhaka University Central Mosque.

Inqilab Moncho says the flight carrying Hadi’s mortal remains will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 6pm. From there, it will be transported to the mosque.

“We’ll stand next to the road from the airport to Shahbagh in a disciplined manner to receive our fearless hero, who was the lifeline of July’s ideals and struggled to maintain independence and sovereignty.”
