Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur has urged the interim government to implement the reform issues that reached a consensus.
He said, "Those reform proposals they have been finalised through discussions, should be implemented under the current government at any cost."
He made the remarks in his opening speech during a dialogue with the National Consensus Commission at the LD Hall of the National Parliament on Monday.
Nur said, "We all should be committed and even use force if needed, to implement the effective reform proposals and ensure the broader interest of the nation. For reforms, we urge the commission to prioritise the national interest over people, parties and communities."
For the last 16 years, people from all socio-economical groups joined the movement against fascist, he said. "Many of them staged protests staying at their own places. However, the political context at that time did not allow us and those people to do anything more than that, even if we wished."
“We have, however, created a context through the mass uprising in July,"
Nur said the dialogue with the National Consensus Commission would draft an "important chapter" for the progress of Bangladesh.
