The sight of haircuts and shaves taking place by the roadside or on footpaths is a familiar one. Despite the availability of modern salons, itinerant barbers continue to ply their trade, from rural markets to the nooks and crannies of cities. In Aganagar of Dhaka’s Keraniganj, about 10 such barbers have set up roadside stalls. Many locals visit them for affordable haircuts and shaves.
