Sand labourers of Turag

Thousands of workers unload sand from vessels on the Turag River in Dhaka’s Gabtoli and Aminbazar every day from dawn to dusk regardless of the weather – be it hot or cold. They see no improvement in their standard of living since their wage has not increased in the past two years despite inflationary pressure.
