Battery-powered rickshaws are now plying on the main roads of Dhaka, in violation of the rules. The influx is worsening traffic congestion and increasing the risk of accidents. Although the government has taken an initiative to form a policy for the management of environmentally-friendly vehicles, it hasn’t yet seen the light of day.
