EL Café has opened in Dhanmondi, bringing a new café-and-bistro concept to one of Dhaka’s busiest dining neighbourhoods.

The café, which launched on Aug 19, is a new venture from the team behind Espresso Lounge and is operated under Federal Group.

The inauguration was attended by Ovi Diaz and Ripon Barua of Federal Group, along with food bloggers, influencers and representatives from television, print and digital media.

Designed to shift from a daytime café to an evening bistro, EL Café is aimed at customers looking for everything from a quick coffee or business meeting to a relaxed meal with family and friends.

The menu builds on Espresso Lounge’s focus on specialty coffee and includes freshly roasted coffee alongside baked goods made in-house, including croissants, cookies, cakes and pastries.

EL Café also offers burgers, salads, breakfast dishes, sandwiches, pasta and desserts.

One of the more distinctive additions is Wagyu beef, which features in a selection of dishes and gives the menu a more premium dining element than is usually associated with a neighbourhood café.

The interiors follow a bright, contemporary style with greenery and open seating, reflecting the brand’s attempt to create a space suited to both casual visits and longer dining occasions.

With the opening, EL Café joins Dhanmondi’s crowded café scene with a format that combines coffee, bakery items and a broader bistro-style menu under one roof.

EL Café is located at Plot 39/B, Road 14/A, Sat Masjid Road.
