Four more children with measles symptoms have died in a 24-hour count, while 75 new cases have been confirmed over the period.

In its regular measles bulletin on Sunday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that 92 people have died of confirmed cases of the highly-infectious disease across the country since Mar 15. In addition, 570 people with suspected measles cases have also died.

The Dhaka Division has seen the most deaths with 236, while Rajshahi has counted 87.

The DGHS says that, in addition to the confirmed cases, 1,052 people with measles symptoms have gone to hospitals for treatment over the 24-hour period. Of them, 973 have been hospitalised.

Dhaka hospitals have logged the most admissions, with 398. Rangpur has registered the least with 12.

The latest counts take the number of confirmed measles cases in the country to 10,323, while the suspected caseload rises to 85,951.
