Bangladesh has recorded another death from measles in the last 24 hours, when two more people died with symptoms of the viral disease.
Announcing the latest fatalities on Wednesday, the Directorate General of Health Services said the nationwide toll has reached 198 since Mar 15.
According to official estimates, 76 new measles cases have been reported, while 666 people -- including 205 in Dhaka -- were hospitalised nationwide in the 24 hours until 8am.
During the same period, 1,032 people sought treatment at hospitals with measles symptoms.
Of the total death toll, 32 were confirmed measles cases, while 166 were suspected patients.
Since mid-March, a total of 12,318 people have visited hospitals across the country with measles symptoms. Of them, 2,973 were diagnosed with the disease.
Dhaka Division recorded the highest number of confirmed deaths at 18, followed by five in Barishal Division and three in Chattogram Division.
Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions reported three and two deaths respectively, while no fatalities have been recorded in Khulna Division.
Dhaka Division also reported the highest number of deaths among suspected measles cases, with 76 fatalities, followed by 64 in Rajshahi Division.
Moreover, 11 suspected deaths were reported in Chattogram Division, 10 in Khulna Division, three in Sylhet Division, and two in Barishal Division.
