Bangladesh has registered 165 cases of the mosquito-borne disease since the start of the 2025

Bangladesh has seen no deaths from dengue fever over the past 24 hours, but 23 new patients have been hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease in the same period.
Of them, seven were hospitalised in the Dhaka North City Corporation, one in the Dhaka South City Corporation, and 10 in the Dhaka Division, the Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said on Friday.
In addition, four people were hospitalised the Chattogram Division and one in the Mymensingh Division.
As many as 465 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. Of them, 223 are hospitalised in the capital and 242 are outside Dhaka.
A total of 210 patients with dengue were discharged from hospital over the 24-hour period, with 606 discharged since the start of the year.
In 2024, a total of 101,214 patients were hospitalised due to dengue nationwide, with 575 fatalities reported.
This marks the third-highest number of hospitalisations due to dengue in the country’s history, while the death toll ranks as the second-highest.
The DGHS has been keeping records of dengue hospitalisations and fatalities since 2000.
Since then, a record 321,179 dengue hospitalisations were logged in 2023. That year also saw the most deaths with 1,705.
