Bangladesh Bank Governor Atiur Rahman has been awarded the ‘Central Bank Governor of the Year 2015 for Asia’ for his contribution to the maintenance of macroeconomic stability.

London-based financial information provider Emerging Markets announced the award on Saturday.
The award would be handed over to him in the evening at Lima in Peru, according to a media release issued by the Bangladesh Bank.
Delegates of World Bank-International Monetary Fund annual meetings would attend the function to bestow the award, the media release said.
The award was conferred to Governor of Reserve Bank of India Raghuram Govind Rajan last year and Chinese central bank Governor Zhou Xiaochuan the year before.
