The National Board of Revenue has extended the deadline for submitting online VAT returns for the February 2026 tax period to Mar 29, citing the long Eid holidays and slower e-VAT services ahead of the break.
The revenue authority announced the decision in a directive issued on Sunday.
It said the deadline had been extended through the e-VAT system in view of service slowdowns before the holidays covering Eid-ul-Fitr and Independence Day.
Normally, monthly VAT returns must be submitted by the 15th of the following month. A fine of Tk 5,000 is imposed for failing the regular deadline.
The deadline for the January returns was deferred by a week in February on the back of the 13th national election and referendum held on Feb 12.
