The authorities have decided to shut the Teacher-Student Centre or TSC in Dhaka University at 8pm every day and asked the social and cultural organisations to wind up their daily activities by that time.

TSC Director AMM Mohiuzzaman Chowdhury told bdnews24.com Saturday that he notified the 17 organisations at the TSC about the decision in a notice.
Though ‘security reasons’ are cited in the notice, Mohiuzzaman said the decision aimed at 'bringing a semblance of discipline among the boys and girls working at the TSC'.
“Those working in these organisations are students of the university. Limiting the time aims to bring their activities to order and keep the place free from outsiders."
He said the 'time limit' was nothing new and the notice aimed to remind them about it.
Dhaka University Film Society President SM Arif Shovon, however, said there had been no such instruction earlier.
The authorities sent the notice to the organisations on Oct 17.
It says they can continue activities until 11pm with permission from the authorities.
The TSC director said outsiders enter the centre if the main gate remains open at night.
He also said the organisations are supposed to have no work after 8pm.
