Rizaul Jannat Urdho and Sayed Hasan Bin Walid have won the women’s and men’s titles respectively at the Mehram–IUB Inter-University Squash Tournament 2025, held at Independent University, Bangladesh.

The finals were played at the IUB Squash Court on Saturday.

Urdho, a student of Computer Science and Engineering at IUB, defeated Finance major Jyoti Rani Roy, also from IUB, in straight sets to claim the women’s title.

Atifah Ibnat Mounota of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) finished third.

In the men’s competition, Walid, an Economics major from East West University, beat IUB’s MD Raihan, a Finance student, also in straight sets to secure the championship.

Rafiuzzaman, a student of the University of Chittagong took third place.

Forty players from 13 public and private universities across the country took part in the two-day event.

Champions, runners-up and third-place winners received trophies, while all participants were awarded certificates.

The tournament was sponsored by Mehram Limited, owned by IUB Trustee Md Tanveer Madar.

IUB Board of Trustees Chairman Didar A Husain, Trustees Towhid Samad, Md Tanveer Madar, Rashed Chowdhury and Dr Husne Ara Ali, along with Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Daniel W Lund, Brig Gen (Retd) G M Quamrul Islam, general secretary of the Bangladesh Squash Racket Federation, and senior officials and faculty members watched the finals and distributed the prizes.
