ULAB pays tribute to Liberation War heroes

Habibul Alam, Bir Pratik, shared his experiences from the war in 1971 and reflected on the achievements of freedom

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh has commemorated Victory Day with a programme to honour the heroes of the 1971 Liberation War.

The event, held on Tuesday, began with a display of pictures and books.

Prof Imran Rahman, vice chancellor of the university, then gave a welcome speech.

The highlight of the event was a speech by Habibul Alam, Bir Pratik, who shared his experiences from the war in 1971 and reflected on the achievements of freedom.

The programme concluded with Victory Day songs performed in honour of the sacrifices made for Bangladesh’s independence.

“ULAB remains committed to preserving and celebrating the legacy of the Liberation War, fostering a deep sense of patriotism among the community,” the university said in a statement.
