Jamuna Future Park opens, partly

A part of Jamuna Future Park, which the entrepreneurs say is the world’s third largest shopping mall, opened on Friday.

Home Minister MK Alamgir inaugurated various rides at the Future Park’s fifth floor and in the park area.

Top government officials, political party leaders and other luminaries attended the inaugural ceremony.

People of all ages thronged the park after it was opened to the public at around 1pm.

According to the park’s website, the fifth floor has four departments – sports and healthcare, entertainment, food court and children’s playing zone. The Cineplex has seven cinema halls.

There are plans to construct a five-star hotel, an exclusive hospital and an office building on the approximately 150,000 square metre park, the website says.
