Labaid Director Wasif nominated vice-president of BTTF

He has set up a table tennis club named “Futures Sporting Club”

Wasif Farhan Shayer, director of healthcare provider Labaid Group, has been nominated as a vice-president of the Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation.

The federation’s ad-hoc committee was reconstituted after one year through a government circular issued on Jan 22, signed by National Sports Council Executive Director (joint secretary) Md Daulatuzzaman Khan.

As part of the restructuring, Wasif was included as vice-president, replacing Khandaker Hasan Munir Suman.

Wasif competed up to the round of 64 in the 40th National Table Tennis Tournament, which concluded on Jan 16.

Alongside playing, he has also been held a significant role as a sports organiser.

In 2022, he established a modern table tennis club named “Futures Sporting Club”, which regularly participates in the metropolitan league while also organising training events and various tournaments.
