A four-strong bench of the Appellate Division, led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, heard the appeal for the 10th day on Wednesday.
The other members of the bench are Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice Hasan Foez Siddique
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam made the argument for the state at the hearings. Additional Attorney General Momtazuddin Fakir assisted him.
After the hearing, Alam told reporters he had appealed to uphold the death sentence.
“The upholding (of the highest penalty) will be just. It is very much necessary for justice,” he said.
The defence is scheduled to start presenting its arguments on Sunday.
