Bangladesh embassy in Denmark has showcased rich Bengali culture to the Nordic country through the celebration of the Bangla New Year amid festivity and fervour.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki who is visiting Copenhagen was present at the celebration with expatriate Bangladeshis and local Danes, the embassy said on Monday.
Though, April 14 was the Bangla New Year, but embassies have a tradition to celebrate the day even later at a suitable time of the host country.
The state minister thanked the ambassador for organising the event highlighting Bangladesh’s tradition and culture.
Over 50 Dane families joined the celebration.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali made the official visit to Denmark last year, first in Bangladesh’s history.
Both sides jointly hosted a conference recently in Dhaka on “green growth solutions” which is the key area of Danish government.
Denmark is globally acclaimed for its expertise in green issues and the country has planned to be the first country in the world to completely replace fossil fuel by renewable energy by 2050.
Denmark is also set to import Bangladeshi bicycles from October this year.
