Rajshahi MP’s son held with Yaba

Police have arrested the son of Rajshahi district Awami League President for possessing contraband popular club-drug Yaba.

The arrestee Mostaque Ahmed Tulu, 25, is the son of Meraj Uddin Molla, an MP of Rajshahi-3 constituency.

Shah Makhdum Police Station OC Hafizur Rahman Hafiz said Mostaque was arrested from the city’s Naodaparha Aam intersection on Thursday night.

Another youth Mamunur Rashid, 30, who was accompanying Mostaque was also arrested.

The OC said the two were produced before the court on Friday morning.

Police sought their three days' remand.

The two were held while they were doing a transaction of Yaba.

A case was filed against them with Shah Makhdum Police Station under Drugs Act.
