Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury appointed Chittagong University VC

Chittagong University Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury has been appointed the university’s 17th vice-chancellor (VC).

A message mentioning the appointment was faxed to the university, Prof Chowdhury told bdnews24.com.

 

“University Chancellor President Md Abdul Hamid has appointed me vice chancellor for the next four years,” he added.

 

He will take charge on June 15, replacing Professor Anwarul Azim Arif.

 

Prof Azim was appointed on June 14, 2011.

 

Sociology professor Chowdhury was appointed pro-VC in 2013.

 

No-one has been named to replace Prof Chowdhury for the pro-VC’s post.
