Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reached London to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

The premier reached Luton airport at 12.45am local time by a special flight provided by the Saudi government.
Hasina was received by Neil Holland, director of protocol for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Shahriar Alam, state minister for foreign affairs, and Nazmul Quaunine, Bangladesh high commissioner to the UK. Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali travelled with Hasina from Saudi Arabia.
The prime minister has been taken to Claridge’s Hotel from the airport where she will stay during her weeklong visit.
A large number of Awami League leaders and activists representing the ruling party’s UK and Europe chapters received Hasina as she reached the hotel.
The prime minister went to London to attend the 25th Commonwealth conference invited by her British counterpart Theresa May.
Before travelling to London, Hasina attended the closing ceremony of a joint military exercise known as Gulf Shield-1 in Dammam on Apr 16.
The Bangladesh premier will present a keynote paper in the session titled ‘Educate to Empower: Making equitable and quality primary education and secondary education a reality for girls across the Commonwealth.’
Hasina will return to Dhaka on Apr 23 following the eight-day visit.
