Metropolitan Magistrate Anwarul Haque granted the police seven days to grill Nur Mia and Dulal Mia on Thursday.
Detective Branch Inspector Suranjit Tarafder had sought a 10-day remand, Assistant Commissioner of Sylhet police Abdul Ahad said.
Locals held Nur Mia and handed him over to police at Jalalabad on Wednesday night. He had filmed the 13-year-old boy being tortured to death.
Dulal was caught from Sheikhparha earlier on Wednesday.
Several men at Kumargaon had brutally beaten Rajan to death on July 8, accusing him of stealing a rickshaw van.
Police said Nur was an accomplice of the torturers and had filmed the incident. He was also the one who had later released the footage on the internet.
The 28-minute video clip that went viral caused a public outrage on the social media.
Nur, who works at a workshop in Kumargaon where Rajan was tied to a pole and beaten to death, said he filmed the torture at the behest of Kamrul Islam, who fled to Saudi Arabia after the incident but was arrested in Jeddah.
Locals held Kamrul’s elder brother Muhit Alam when he was trying to carry away Rajan’s body.
Another accused, local watchman Moyna Mia, was arrested on Tuesday night.
Police have already taken Muhit and Moyna on remand.
The law enforcers also detained Muhit’s wife Lipi Begum, brother-in-law Ismail Hossain Ablus, and three other people for questioning.
The case was forwarded to the Detective Branch on Wednesday.
Of the accused, only Ali Haider is still at large.
