Police have arrested 40 active members of the Awami League, whose activities have been banned.
The arrests were made in raids across different parts of the capital on Wednesday, according to Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Akhtar Hossain.
Police said legal proceedings against those arrested are under way.
