During the ceremony on Wednesday, President Maithripala Sirisena hoped that the two countries would “work together in further deepening the bilateral relations,” the High Commission said in a statement.
He also condemned the recent terror attack at Gulshan cafe and conveyed his sympathies for the victims.
Hamidullah conveyed to the president the 'personal regards' of Bangladesh president and prime minister.
He pointed out that a number of outstanding “major issues of mutually beneficial interest, including the proposed bilateral FTA and the Coastal Shipping Agreement could be finalised during upcoming high-level interactions”.
He said those would also make 'solid ground' for taking preparations for top level visits at the beginning of next year.
