Nazmul Quaunine new Bangladesh envoy in the UK

The government has decided to appoint Md Nazmul Quaunine as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom, the foreign ministry says.

He is currently serving as the envoy in Indonesia.

A doctor by training, Quaunine belongs to the 1985 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre and had served as the ambassador in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He has also served in Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, Bangladesh's UN Permanent Mission in Geneva and the high commissions in Islamabad and London.

Quaunine completed his MBBS from the Dhaka Medical College.

He has a post graduate diploma in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
