Dhaka, May 18 (BDNEWS) – The government has decided to appoint Nasima Haider, currently Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the Republic of South Africa.
A career diplomat of the 1981 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) cadre, Nasima Haider passed out from the University of Dhaka with BA (Honours) and MA in English Literature, according to a press release.
She also obtained her Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Dhaka and Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy from the International Institute of Public Administration in Paris.
In the course of her diplomatic career, Nasima Haider served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladesh Missions in Ottawa, Islamabad, Jakarta, Paris and Karachi in various capacities.
Nasima Haider, currently Director General (Europe), was in charge of the Americas and the Pacific Wing in the Ministry as Director General from October 2002 to May 2004.
