Dhaka, Sept 7 (bdnews24.com) — Sayem-ur Rahman Sayem, only son of state minister for local government Jahangir Kabir Nanak, has been buried.
He was laid to rest at the Banani graveyard around 9pm on Wednesday.
Earlier, a namaz-e-janaza was held at the west ground of parliament building, attended by ministers and MPs of the ruling party and allies.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina and president Zillur Rahman in separate messages condoled the death.
Sayem's body reached Dhaka in the morning and was kept at his father's parliament residence.
The 28-year old father of a seven-month child died on Tuesday night at Chokoria on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway when the microbus he was driving tumbled into a roadside ditch after one of the tyres burst.
The vehicle was also carrying Nanak's brother-in-law Syed Golam Piu, 35, and another passenger, Enamul Kabir, 30, who were injured.
Confirming that Sayem was driving the vehicle, Chokoria police chief Mohammad Farhad said, "The microbus caught fire immediately."
Fire fighters recovered Sayem's body and rescued Piu and Kabir. The two injured were sent to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.
Nanak has a daughter, Bithika Afrin Rakhi, who studies bar-at-law in London.
