The court on Monday also issued a rule asking the authorities why the student’s result will not be republished after the re-evaluation.
The education secretary, chairman of the Chittagong Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, secretary, examination controller and school inspector will have to respond to the rule within three weeks.
The order and the rule follow a writ petition filed by the father of a student of Dr Khastagir Government Girls' High School after the publication of the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations on May 11.
A total of 95 SSC students of the school and their guardians demonstrated demanding re-evaluation of mathematics answer sheets after the results were out. They also wrote to the board chairman.
As the chairman did not respond to their appeal, student Maisha Farzana’s father moved the High Court on Sunday.
Lawyer Abdullah Al Mahmud, who stood with the petitioner’s counsel Moudud Ahmed during the hearing, told bdnews24.com the court had ordered the re-examination of Farzana’s mathematics answer sheets, both objective and written, by a third examiner chosen by the board chairman in her and in her headmaster’s presence.
