Speaking at Shahbagh, he gave his immediate response to the Saturday night hanging of the former Al-Badr commander of Chittagong and Jamaat-e-Islami’s chief financier.

"Even today these war criminals are encouraging the growth of terrorism so that Bangladesh becomes ineffectual and ineffective. Even as the trial against them is on, just look at the audacity of their relatives, kith and kin".

"Those who have allowed them to adorn their houses with the national flag are trying to rehabilitate these war criminals. We must give them a fitting reply," he said.

After her final meeting with her husband, Mir Quasem's wife Khondokar Ayesha Khatun said, the intentions of those who were hanging her husband would never come true.

Reacting to the comment, Sarker said, "What audacity! She says that the dreams of the freedom fighters will not come true! She means that the wishes of the war criminals would come true!

“The intentions of those who support a religiously extremist pro-Pakistan mentality would come true! That we will be defeated and that they will win!"

He added that the time has come for giving a fitting reply to those who stand against the ethos that went into the building of Bangladesh.

The Mancha activists had gathered in front of the National Museum and erupted into celebrations following the execution.
