Fire breaks out at Dhaka’s Motalib Plaza shopping mall

A fire has broken out at a multi-storeyed building housing shops and residential apartments in Dhaka.

The fire service said that flames erupted on the third-floor of ‘Motalib Plaza’ at the capital’s Hatirpool just before 10am.

As many as 15 fire-fighting units have rushed to the spot, said Fire Service Control Room’s Duty Officer Ataur Rahman.

Any casualties are yet to be reported.

The 17-storey building has a shopping mall and a convention centre from the ground to the fourth floor while the rest is residential apartments.
