Dhaka, June 5 (bdnews24.com) — Facebook reopened in Bangladesh on Saturday night after being closed for one week.
The government lifted restrictions on popular social networking site with some 875,000 users in Bangladesh at 11:38pm.
Mango Telecom Services managing director, Mir Masud Kabir told bdnews24.com that he received a phone call from chairman of the telecoms regulator retired Major General Zia Ahmed, asking him to withdraw the restrictions on the networking site.
Head of the international internet gateway said, "I received the instruction at 11:37pm and reopened the site a minute later."
