Charges of domestic violence have been brought against Land Advisor AF Hassan Ariff’s son Moaz Ariff.

Moaz’s ex-wife Madhabi Akter Nila filed a case at the Ramna Police Station on Monday.

In June 2021, police arrested the nine-month pregnant Nila for allegedly attempting to murder Moaz.

She gave birth to her second child while in prison.

After being released on bail on Jun 19, 2021, Nila filed a case at New Market Police Station, accusing Moaz of domestic violence, forced abortion, and detaining their 2-year-old daughter.

Nila had been posting to Facebook accusing Moaz of torturing her in the last few days.

She also went live from Ramna Police Station on Monday.

"The case alleges that Moaz Ariff assaulted Madhabi Akter Nila inside Dhaka Club on Nov 29. We will investigate and take appropriate legal action," Masud Alam, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna Zone, said on Monday.
