Bogura records 42.37%, Sherpur 50.52% voter turnout in polls

No reports of significant unrest have been received during the election

Voter turnout in the by-election for the Bogura-6 constituency has reached 42.37 per cent.

Meanwhile, the turnout in the Sherpur-3 seat was 50.52 percent.

Polling for both seats was held on Thursday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. The counting of votes commenced shortly after.

Fazlul Karim, the returning and district election officer for Bogura, said the total number of voters in this constituency is 450,309. A total of 191,696 votes were cast.

Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, the returning officer for Sherpur-3, said the total number of voters in this seat is 498,003.

No major reports of disturbances were received during the election.

However, candidates from Jamaat-e-Islami have raised several allegations of electoral irregularities.
