Police have recovered the body of an expatriate’s wife from her bedroom in Rajbari Sadar Upazila. The deceased was found with a scarf tied around her neck.
The body was recovered on Tuesday morning, confirmed Rajbari Police Station chief Mahmudur Rahman.
The deceased has been identified Salma Khatun, 28, the wife of Saudi Arabia expat Azad.
Citing locals, OC Mahmudur said that Salma slept in a separate room with her two children on Eid night.
In the morning, her mother-in-law woke up and saw that the door to the room was open. When she went inside, she saw Salma's body lying on the bed with a scarf tied around her neck.
Her two children were sleeping next to her on the same bed.
Mahmudur added that after recovering the body, the police sent it to the morgue for a post-mortem. An investigation is underway to find out who killed her and for what reason.
