Another 124 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and ex-ministers, have also been named in the case

Former president Abdul Hamid has been named in a case filed over an attack and gunfire targeting the Anti-discrimination Student Movement in Kishoreganj.
Other than Abdul Hamid, 124 other people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former ministers, have also been named in the case.
Tahmul Islam Mazharul filed the case, according to Abdullah Al Mamun, chief of Kishoreganj Model Police Station, on Wednesday. The 27-year-old plaintiff is the son of Abu Taher Bhuiyan, and a native of Latibabad of North Kishoreganj.
When contacted over the phone, Tahmul claimed to be a BNP activist and said he was listed as injured in the student-led mass uprising.
The case dossier said that all of the accused, including the former president, prime minister, ministers, MPs and Awami League leaders planned a nationwide mass killing to curb the unity and movement of students and the public which aimed to topple the Hasina government. They also ordered other suspects to block any protest in Kishoreganj.
In accordance with their order, the suspects carrying shotguns, rifles, pistols, crude bombs and local weapons attacked a procession brought out by students and the public at Station Road in Kishoreganj around 12pm on Aug 4.
The plaintiff was severely injured after he received bullet wounds in the head, hand and other parts of his body. Several other witnesses were injured.
In addition, the accused used grenades, crude bombs and other explosives to create terror in the area, the plaintiff alleges.
It took a long time to file the case as he was under treatment in different hospitals, Tahmul said in the case dossier.
While Hasina is the suspect No. 1 in the case, ex-president Hamid has been listed as suspect No. 3, said OC Abdullah. It is the first the former president has been named in a case filed in Kishoreganj regarding the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Other notable suspects named in the case are Hasina’s sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, nephew Radwan Mujib Siddiq, Awami League leaders Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Hassan Mahmud, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Mohammed Ali Arafat, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Shamim Osman, Kabir Bin Anwar, Tariq Ahmed Siddiq, Nazmul Hasan Papan, and ex-president Hamid’s son, Rezwan Ahmed Toufique.
Five parliamentarians of the district and Kishoreganj Awami league leaders were also named in the case.
Police will investigate the case and take the necessary legal action, said OC Abdullah.
