Gas pressure likely to dip for several hours on Wednesday due to LNG maintenance

Petrobangla says maintenance work at the Maheshkhali LNG terminal will reduce supply from 11am to 5:30pm

Household gas pressure may drop for several hours on Wednesday due to maintenance work at the floating LNG terminal in Maheshkhali, Petrobangla has said.

In a statement, the state-run energy company said the supply of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) from the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), operated by Accelerate Energy, will be reduced from 11am to 5:30pm.

The FSRU is an offshore facility where imported liquefied natural gas is converted into natural gas before being fed into the national grid.

Petrobangla said the temporary reduction in supply could lead to low gas pressure in some areas across the country. It apologised for the inconvenience caused.
