Man's body found with hands, feet bound in Dhaka's Demra

Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man with his hands and feet tied and a cloth belt wrapped around his neck from Dhaka's Demra.

The body of the man, clad in a black T-shirt and olive-coloured trousers, was found on a road in Amulia Model Town on Sunday night, according to police.

Police suspect the man, believed to be around 26 years old, was killed and dumped at the location by unknown individuals.

Alerted by locals, law enforcers retrieved the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy early on Monday morning, according to Sub-Inspector Dipankar Kumar Debnath of Demra Police Station.

"We recovered the body from a road near the China Power Project in Amulia Model Town. His hands and feet were tied, and a cloth belt was wrapped around his neck," he said.

The cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy, he added.

Efforts are also underway to identify the victim, police said.
