As mid-November graces the northern regions with whispers of winter, Dhaka has been enveloped in relentless heat, felt a shift.
On Tuesday evening, however, refreshing breeze stirred the city, hinting at change, soon followed by a gentle cascade of rain, breathing new life into the capital’s sultry air.
Meteorologist Shahinul Islam told bdnews24.com on Tuesday night, "This rainfall is a natural occurrence for the season, resulting from internal clouds that are producing rain."
When asked if this rain would bring a winter atmosphere, Shahinul said: "The temperature will drop slightly after the rain, but it may rise again afterwards. Gradually, we will experience a colder climate."
Meanwhile, the regular bulletin from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, or BMD, on Tuesday evening said a seasonal low pressure is located in the southern Bay of Bengal, extending its influence to its northern region.
As a result, temporary gusty winds, along with rain or thunderous rain, are expected in various areas of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, as well as a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.
Temperatures across the country may slightly decrease both during the day and at night.
According to the Met Office, light to moderate fog may occur in various river basins across the country in the early hours.
Over the past 24 hours, Feni, Sitakunda, Kutubdia, and the Ambagan area of Chattogram recorded the highest temperature at 34.5 degrees Celsius.
During the same period, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius in Panchagarh’s Tetulia.
