Customs officials at the Dhaka airport have detained a passenger in possession of gold bars weighing over 5 kg.

As many as nine gold bars were found with 48-year-old Abdur Razzak, who landed Dhaka at 1:30am on Saturday on Malaysian Airlines flight, said Customs Assistant Commissioner HM Ahsan Kabir.
He said they have seized five gold bars weighing 1 kg each and four weighing 100 grams each.
The estimated market value of the confiscated gold is around Tk 27 million, said the customs officer.
