The interim government has removed from service six trainee assistant police superintendents appointed through the 41st Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination.

The home ministry in a notice issued on Sunday confirmed the decision.

The individuals who faced the action are Delwar Hossain, Mahmudul Haque, Ishaq Hossain, Mashiur Rahman, Rakib Anwar and Sayeed Karim Mugdho.

The home ministry notification said the decision to remove the individuals was made following the civil service recruitment rules.

The civil service rules allow the government to cancel an appointment of someone if they are found ineligible during training.

During the Awami League government, the final results of the 41st BCS were published on Aug 3, 2023.

The Public Service Commission recommended 2,520 appointments upon the completion of the exam.
