Students demanding the issuance of the proposed Dhaka Central University ordinance have continued their sit-in outside the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education building on Abdul Gani Road.

They continued their campaigning over the conversion of seven colleges into a university on Sunday night.

The protest began around 1pm, with students positioning themselves outside the education building. By 3pm, they had blocked the High Court junction. Though they cleared the road at 7:30pm to minimise public inconvenience, they maintained their presence outside the Shikkha Bhaban at night.

Mohammad Naeem Howlader, a representative of the movement and a student of Dhaka College, told bdnews24.com in the evening: “We will stay outside the education building at night. We have declared that we will not return home until the proposed Dhaka Central University ordinance is issued.”
