Md Asaduzzaman appointed new attorney general

He was the junior of renowned lawyer Barrister Syed Ishtiaque Ahmed

Supreme Court lawyer Md Asaduzzaman has been appointed as the attorney general of Bangladesh.

On Thursday, President Md Shahabuddin appointed him to the office of the chief legal counsel of the state.

A notification signed by Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Md Golam Sarwar said the senior advocate of the Supreme Court will hold the job until further notice.

Earlier on Wednesday, AM Aminuddin resigned as attorney general citing personal grounds.

Asaduzzaman is the human rights secretary of the BNP Central Committee and an advisor to Chairperson Khaleda Zia. He was the junior of renowned lawyer late Barrister Syed Ishtiaque Ahmed.
