A trainer of temple-based mass education programme in Bogra has been facing protests from teachers of the project for making 40 of them hold their ears as punishment during a training session.

The protests are taking place when the High Court is waiting for a government report to decide whether to order legal action against Jatiya Party MP AKM Salim Osman and others.
They have been involved in assaulting and making a headmaster do sit-ups holding his ears for alleged blasphemy in Narayanganj.
The project’s Bogra official Milon Das said the teachers boycotted a workshop on Thursday after seeing the trainer there.
They also demonstrated demanding action against the trainer, Kanu Bas Fonrh, over the punishment they had been meted out for their failure to answer some of Fonrh’s questions in a monthly meeting on Apr 21.
Das said most of the teachers had accepted the trainer’s apology immediately after the incident.
A report on the matter has also been sent to the project’s headquarters, he said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sufia Nazim said four of them had filed a complaint but two later withdrew.
