Dhaka, May 6 (BDNEWS) – The vote counting of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) has been underway Friday night.
The full and final results are likely to be announced Saturday, election commission sources said.
According to the latest results received from the election commission, pro-government Dr Hadi-Dr Zahid panel of Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) secured a total victory in BMA centre in Dhaka.
Of total 25,294 votes, 10,995 are in Dhaka. Some 7,661 cast votes in the capital.
Sources concerned said that the margin of votes polled by Dr Hadi-Dr Zahid and Dr Rashid-e-Mahbub-Dr Iqbal Arsnal panel of opposition backed Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad was 5,000.
They said that the panel supported by DAB is leading in 52 centres out of 67. The election commission received results of 32 centres.
But the vote counting for councillors was still going on.
BMA election took place on Thursday.
