President Md Abdul Hamid has visited Shantiniketan on the last day of his India tour.

Located near Bolpur, in Birbhum district, the place is about 212 km north of Kolkata and hosts the famous Visva Bharati University founded by Rabindranath Tagore.
Hamid was greeted by Tapati Mukherjee, Director of Culture and Cultural Relations and principal of 'Rabindra Bhaban'.
He was later taken to the museum that houses artefacts used by the poet and pictures of him.
President Hamid also saw the model of a boat used by Tagore. It was gifted to Visva Bharati by Bangladesh.
