Gaibandha, March 6 (BDNEWS) – The arrest of JMB second-in-command Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai created uproar at Akander Para village in Gaibandha, from where Fahima Khatun, wife of the JMB top leader hails.
People started thronging the house of Ibrahim Ali, father of Fahima to know about her.
Although the arrest of Bangla Bhai created mixed reaction among the people of JMB inhabited areas, Bangla Bhai's father-in-law Ibrahim Ali and his family members did not react at all over the arrest of the JMB leader.
They said that they had to undergo harassment of the law enforcers for several times for having relation with Bangla Bhai. Ibrahim Ali severed links with his daughter and son-in-law Bangla Bhai through affidavit to avert harassment and trouble.
Ibrahim Ali and his family members were not in contact with Fahima or Bangla Bhai for a long time.
On the other hand, the police remained alert in all parts of the district after the arrest of Shaekh Abdur Rahman and Bangla Bhai. The people of Saghata upazila heaved a sigh of relief hearing the news of Bangla Bhai's arrest.
Sources said that many listed JMB cadres in the area had already gone into hiding.
