5 die as covered van crashes into autorickshaw in Kishoreganj

Five people have been killed after a covered van crashed into an autorickshaw in Kishoreganj’s Bhairab Upazila.

The incident occurred at 9:10am on Monday in the Jagannathpur area of the Kishoreganj-Sylhet highway, according to Md Shaheen Mia, chief of Bhairab Police Station.

Two of the dead are men while three are women, police said. They were not immediately identified.

“A Sylhet-bound autorickshaw crashed head-on into a Dhaka-bound covered van,” OC Shaheen said. “Five people, including the autorickshaw driver, were killed. Highway Police recovered the bodies when the incident was reported.”
