Dhaka, Dec 1 (bdnews24.com) – Azerbaijan has agreed to recruit manpower from Bangladesh for developing its infrastructure sector.
Azerbaijan president Ilham Aliyev expressed his country's interest in Bangladeshi manpower while Dhaka ambassador to that country Mohammad Zulfiqur Rahman met him in Baku on Thursday, says a foreign ministry media statement.
Zulfiqur, ambassador to Turkey and concurrently accredited to Azerbaijan, handed over his credential to the president there.
Aliyev referred to the contribution of Bangladeshi workers to the construction of the Middle East infrastructure sector and hoped that they would make similar contribution to his country as well.
Azerbaijan, with its huge gas and oil reserves, now enjoys the status of an emerging and booming economy in the region.
